This neighborhood was historically known as "Pughal Chola Nallur" (in Tamil, meaning a Good town of the Chola Kingdom),a town which is situated north west of Pallavaram in Chennai. This place is a 9th century town. This town was ruled by Chola rulers. There are many temples nearby in this town.
